Membership Levels and Benefits

There are two levels of membership. Level I is our basic, no cost level. This entitles individuals to periodic notifications of events related to The National Partnership for Careers in Public Safety and Security, as well as information related to national policies and opportunities. Those of you wanting to receive these periodic notifications should click on the box below.

Level II is only open to organizations: Secondary and Post secondary Schools, School Systems, States, professional associations, government agencies, and other types of organizations interested in supporting career programs. This membership makes the joining organization part of the National Partnership and includes a number of benefits only offered to organizational members and the individuals they designate to receive those benefits.

MEMBERSHIP OPTIONS: Because the types and sizes of organizations interested in the mission and purposes of the National Partnership vary so greatly, a number of different membership options exist. All options offer membership in the National Partnership, access to policy and strategy development sessions, the opportunity to partner on grants and the ability to nominate a representative to the Board of the National Partnership . The six options for membership are:

  1. State Membership -- Designed for organizations, primarily states, wanting to provide a large number of individuals (up to 50) with various benefits. Benefits for individuals include discounts on educational materials, the National Conference and specialized workshops, and access to the “member’s only section”of the website. This access includes direct contact with the National Technical Assistance and Training Team by telephone, email or fax to receive advice on specific questions and sources to obtain LPSS educational curriculum materials. ($1500)

  2. State Membership (Developing) Designed for organizations, primarily states, that have a small number of programs or are in the process of developing career programs. Up to 25 individuals receive various benefits. Benefits for individuals include discounts on educational materials, the National Conference and specialized workshops, and access to the “members' only section”of the website. This access includes direct contact with the National Technical Assistance and Training Team by telephone, email or fax to receive advice on specific questions and sources to obtain LPSS educational curriculum materials. ($750)

  3. Sponsorship Membership – Because a number of organizations prefer to sponsor a specific project, program, or part of the National Conference, they may do so with this type of membership and receive the same benefits as State Membership. The amount provided should be equal to, or greater, than State Membership.

  4. Special Membership – This membership will include the National Partnership and Board membership and also travel expenses to Board meetings and registration to the National Conference, but excludes other benefits offered in the State and Sponsorship Memberships. ($1500)

  5. Exchange Membership – Primarily for non-profit, education related organizations. These organizations maintain National Partnership membership through an exchange of services or support. Such exchanges include sharing of website information, informing members about conferences or projects in which they might be interested, participating in projects or grants and/or sharing of newsletters among members.

  6. Local Agency, School or Career Program Membership – To ensure a balance in the membership of the National Partnership and its Board, local agencies, colleges, schools and career programs are invited to join. Similar to Regular Membership, it provides up to 10 individuals with discounts on educational materials, the National Conference and specialized workshops, and access to the "members' only section" of the website. This access includes the ability to contact directly the National Technical Assistance and Training Team by telephone, email or fax to receive advice on specific questions and sources to obtain materials. ($300)
